Driveways, sidewalks, patios, retaining walls, and everything in between. We handle frost-depth foundations and Colorado soils right. The Handyman Services handles residential plumbing installation and repairs for homeowners across Denver, Westminster, Lakewood, Aurora, and beyond. We're not an emergency call-at-2am service. We're the crew you call for planned projects: kitchen remodels, bathroom plumbing, new sinks and toilets, water heater swaps, pipe replacement, and finishing basements with proper rough-in work.
Your driveway cracks every winter. Your sidewalk heaves. Your patio sinks into that expansive clay. You know the problem. In Denver, it's not a question of if your concrete will fail—it's when. We've poured and repaired thousands of concrete surfaces across the Front Range. We know why Colorado concrete fails, and we know how to make it last.
Concrete work isn't complicated if you understand Colorado soil and climate. Most contractors don't. They pour to standard specs, ignore freeze-thaw cycles, skip air-entrained mixes, and your slab cracks by spring. We don't do that. Every job gets proper depth, reinforcement sized for expansive clay, and concrete formulated for Denver's temperature swings.
A driveway is concrete geometry meeting Colorado weather. Pours need 4-6 inches of depth minimum (frost line is 36 inches in Denver). Rebar needs to be spaced and sized for clay movement, not just anchored to code minimums. Air-entrained concrete matters—tiny air bubbles absorb ice pressure that would otherwise shatter your slab. We pour new driveways to these specifications. We replace old ones that have heaved or cracked beyond repair. We also repair salvageable drives by mudjacking—pumping concrete beneath sunken sections to level them out again. It's faster and cheaper than ripping out and repouringthe entire drive.
Sidewalks and patios crack for the same reason driveways do: improper depth, weak rebar, and concrete that can't handle freeze-thaw. We build sidewalks the same way we build driveways—with real spec work, not corners cut. Steps require especially careful placement and reinforcement so they don't separate from the slab or crumble at the edges. Patios are where you can play with finish. Stamped concrete, broom finishes, exposed aggregate, color—we do all of it. The structural foundation is the same: proper depth, proper rebar, air-entrained concrete. Beauty on top, durability underneath.
A retaining wall that holds soil needs to actually hold soil. That means proper depth, drainage behind the wall, and reinforcement that handles soil pressure. We build them to move earth, not just look finished. Foundation walls follow the same logic—they're either holding or failing. We also pour new concrete foundation walls and repair existing ones where concrete has spalled or cracked from water damage or salt exposure. This work is spec-critical and we don't guess.
Need a opening cut through concrete for an egress window, utility line, or plumbing? We do precision concrete cutting. It's simple work if you have the right equipment and aren't careless about what's running through the slab (rebar, utilities). We scan, we plan, we cut straight and true.
Stamped concrete works when it's properly installed and sealed. The concrete has to be the right color, the stamp has to be executed cleanly, and the seal needs to protect against Colorado sun and snow melt chemicals. We handle all three. We've done clean-edge brick patterns, slate patterns, ashlar, and custom designs. The finish holds up because the foundation does.
Your patio sinks 2 inches. Your driveway's edge lifts. That's Colorado clay doing what Colorado clay does—expanding and contracting. Mudjacking pumps grout beneath sunken slabs to lift them back level. It's cheaper than replacing, faster than replacing, and works on driveways, sidewalks, and patios. The slab still moves with the seasons, but at least you don't trip and you don't hold water.
Concrete in Denver fails because of freeze-thaw cycles, expansive clay, and road salt. Freeze-thaw happens when water enters the concrete, freezes, expands, and cracks the material from the inside out. Air-entrained concrete (concrete with tiny trapped air bubbles) survives this. Regular concrete doesn't. Expansive clay beneath a slab pushes up as it absorbs moisture and shrinks as it dries, creating stress that cracks slabs from underneath. Proper reinforcement handles this. Road salt accelerates concrete spalling and rebar corrosion. The concrete needs to be dense and properly finished to resist it. Every concrete job we do accounts for these factors. Mix design, air content, depth, rebar spacing, finish, and seal—we control all of it. That's why our concrete holds up.

Colorado law requires it. We carry it. Your property is protected.
Depth, reinforcement, air-entrained mix, seal—we control the variables. We don’t pour to minimum code. We pour to what Colorado climate requires.
If your concrete failed under a previous contractor, we can often repair it. Mudjacking levels sunken slabs. Overlays hide cracks. Grinding opens up new texture. We assess what’s salvageable and fix it right.
If it's poured correctly with proper depth, rebar, and air-entrained concrete, 25-40 years. If it's poured wrong, 5-10 years. We build them to last decades, not season to season.
A: Freeze-thaw cycles. Water seeps into concrete pores, freezes, expands, and cracks the material from the inside. Properly air-entrained concrete survives this. Concrete without air entrainment doesn't. Most concrete in Denver isn't air-entrained. Ours is.
36 inches. Concrete footings and foundations need to extend below this depth to avoid frost heave. We respect this. Shallow concrete fails every winter.
Sometimes. Small cracks can be sealed. Large cracks might need an overlay (new concrete layer on top). If the slab has heaved or sunken, mudjacking can level it. If the whole slab is broken and moving, replacement is the real fix.
Pumping grout (thin concrete) beneath a sunken slab through small holes to lift it back level. It costs less than replacement and works on driveways, patios, and sidewalks. The slab still moves with the seasons, but you're level again.
A: It helps. Seal keeps water and salt from penetrating the concrete. But the concrete itself has to be dense and properly finished underneath. Bad concrete fails even with seal. Good concrete stays durable when sealed.
Late spring through early fall. Concrete needs warm temperatures to cure properly. Cold concrete cures slowly and unevenly. Avoid pouring in winter or early spring when freeze-thaw stress is immediate.
It varies by size, depth, and finish. A standard 3-car driveway at proper Colorado depth costs $3,000 to $6,000. Stamped concrete costs more. Patios cost less per square foot. We provide free quotes after assessing your site and soil.

I had a few things around the house that needed attention — a leaking kitchen sink, a loose faucet, and a couple of light fixtures that needed to be replaced. The handyman showed up on time, worked efficiently, and explained everything he was doing. Everything works perfectly now and the price was very reasonable. I’ll definitely call again for future projects.
We hired them to mount a large TV above our fireplace and install some shelving in the living room. The installation looks fantastic and everything is perfectly level and secure. He was very professional, clean, and clearly knew what he was doing. It’s hard to find reliable help these days, but this company is the real deal.
Our toilet started constantly running and I couldn’t figure out what was wrong. The handyman came out the same day, diagnosed the issue quickly, and replaced the parts inside the tank. The repair was fast and now it works like new. Super friendly service and very knowledgeable.
We had several small projects piling up around the house — a towel rack that came loose, a cabinet door that wouldn’t close properly, and a bathroom fixture that needed to be replaced. Instead of calling multiple companies, we had them handle everything in one visit. The work was high quality and done much faster than we expected.
Excellent experience from start to finish. They installed a new kitchen faucet, fixed a slow draining sink, and even helped adjust a door that had been sticking for months. Everything was done professionally and the workspace was left spotless. It’s great knowing we now have a dependable handyman to call.
